HISTORY (First Person POV)
I was walking along with my father and brother on our merry way. Where were we going? I wasn't so sure. I just went with it. My brother would scowl at me every time I complained, but my father paid no mind. Today was a bad day for skinny jeans, but my tank top? Good call. I had my purse slung over my shoulder by halfway. I shouldn't drag it on the floor, it was expensive. Soon, we heard explosions in the distance. Were we actually near an exploding lab with nuclear chemicals? God I hoped not. Soon there was a flash of green before my eyes, and my sight faded to black. I awoke about a day or so later. I could tell, because I was suddenly starving. Although, I had a feeling something else was wrong. I dig into my purse to pull out a mirror to check my hair in. I dropped the mirror in fear when the reflection I saw wasn't mine. I looked around me to find a scientist's skeleton in the nuclear watse. I quick moved myself from there and realized the waste made me into a guy. So fuck, what do I do now? My clothes didn't fit right anymore, and only God knows where Alex and my father went. I looked around me. My angered face softened when I saw my father, laying dead on the ground nearby. I gave him a proper funeral and looked through his bag. He must have leftover clothes, I thought. Right? I pulled on his old shirt and some pants. Surprisingly enough, they actually stayed on my body. At the time, I was fifteen years old. Two years have passed since then, and I stumbled apon the District. I went in and the guard stopped me at first. He told me the area was for people mutated by the waste. I cringed when he told me I looked normal. I shook it off and grinned to him, asking if he was sure. Surely enough, the guard let me inside.
